In our first interview ever Professor Stefan Spinler discussed the crucial role of logistics and sustainability in the supply chain with Professor Rod Franklin, who is Adjunct Professor of Logistics and Academic Director of Executive Education at Kühne Logistics University in Hamburg.
In his role as Head of Executive Education and Adjunct Professor he teaches service innovation, ethics, decision analysis and critical thinking classes for the Masters programs at the Kühne Logistics University with his knowledge gained from 30 years of experience. Especially, Franklin has focused on the application of modern management techniques to the efficient and effective operation of supply chains, green logistics, corporate social responsibility and cloud based supply chain management.
Prior to that he acted as Vice President of Product Development Kuehne + Nagel's efforts to develop new logistics service offerings. Activities included testing of new technologies such as RFID, integration of existing service offerings using advanced information systems and the development of completely new service offerings.
To his educational background count an MSME at Stanford University, followed by an MBA at Harvard University and the completion of the Doctorate Program at the Weatherhead School of Management.
